How it Happened
- Cameron Alexander was on the receiving end of a cross at 13' and chipped it high into the goal for a 1-0 lead. The goal proved to be the difference in the game.
- Early in the second half, Clay Smith had a chance one-on-one with the keeper, but Cam Avery closed the angle and the shot rolled wide.
- In the 68th minute, Drew Demich had a try that sailed just over the crossbar.
- Hood had perhaps its best chance at the equalizer in the 89th minute when Ryan Tutzauer got a touch in close front of net and uncorked a shot. Avery managed to react quickly enough to make the stop.
Notes
- Both teams hold identical records of 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the MAC Commonwealth.
- Avery made seven saves to pick up the shutout.
