FREDERICK, Md. - The duo of Davon Hill (Clinton, Md. / Potomac School) and Trevor Magnuski (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) combined for 41 points, but Stevenson's used its own prolific scoring pair to escape BB&T Arena with an 85-77 win in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth action.

Magnuski poured in a career-high 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting and added three assists and two steals. Hill came off the bench for a  team-high 22 points. The senior guard sank 8-of-16 field goals and 4-of-9 from 3-point range. Tanner Ruths (Stephens City, Va. / Sherando) added 11 points and Jared Ruiz (Frederick, Md. / Oakdale) scored 10.

The Blazers hit 45 percent (9-of-20) of their 3-point field goal attempts. Stevenson, however, went 12-of-22 (55 percent) from behind the arc. 

Erik Fisher led Stevenson with 36 points fueled by a 7-of-10 effort from 3-point range. Christian Roberts added 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Fisher had a game-high 10 boards.

After falling behind 17-5 in the early going, Hood came back and trailed just 32-28 after two Malik Harris (Columbia, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) free throws with a minute and 30 seconds left in the first half. The Mustangs increased the lead to 37-29 at halftime.

Stevenson started the second half with another run, building a 49-32 lead with 16:27 to play. Hood eventually whittled the deficit down to nine points after Hill connected on a 3 with 5:34 remaining to make it 67-58. Hood would pull as close as seven on two occasions, but were unable to cut further into the lead.

Hood committed just 10 turnovers in the game, while converting 17 Mustang errors into 22 points. 

The Blazers close the regular season at Widener on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 3 p.m.
