FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College's Drew Demich turned in his second straight two-goal match as the Blazers defeated Shenandoah 4-1.

The win gave Hood the first 3-0 start in program history. 

In addition to Demich's two goals, Luke Staley had a goal and an assist. Clay Smith scored the Blazers' other goal. 

Danny Castillo and Stephen Friend split time in goal for Hood. Castillo made two saves in the first half, while Friend stopped a shot in the second half. 

Demich put Hood on the board with a goal off an assist from Staley in the 22nd minute for a 1-0 lead. Staley followed up his assist with the Blazers' second goal, when he crossed up a defender and fired a shot high into the far corner of the net. 

After carrying a 2-0 lead into halftime, Hood made it a three-goal lead in the 64th minute. Isaac Umar sent a high pass over the defense and Smith corralled it for his third tally of the season. 

Thomas Delahaye scored for Shenandoah in the 68th minute when he cleaned up a loose ball in front of net. 

Demich capped the scoring with his 40th career goal in the 69th minute. Brandon Feuerherd assisted on the score. The goal tied Demich with Staley for the team-high with four, one ahead of Smith. 

Matt Sweeney made five saves for the Hornets. 

Hood outshot Shenandoah 19-7 in the game and held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
