FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's swim team beat Penn State Altoona by a score of 152-62, but fell to Bryn Mawr 142-113 in a non-conference tri-match.
Firsts
- Molly Cronin earned first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.13. She swam the 200-yard freestyle in 2:09.59, good enough for second place.
- Melissa Jacobs placed first in the 100-yard backstroke, completing the event in 1:05.69. Her time of 1:09.2 earned her second place in the 100-yard individual medley. She also earned second place in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 31.74.
- Danielle Pong swam the 50-yard breaststroke in 32.07 to earn first place. She also earned a second-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 28.62.
- Kate Sanborn earned a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:13.33. She swam the 50-yard breaststroke in 33.24 to earn second place.
- Hood's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Ann Coleman, Cronin, Sanborn, and Pong earned first place with a time of 1:48.56.
- Coleman, Sanborn, Pong, and Cronin placed first in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:59.12. Jacobs, Ashley Coppage, Haleigh Seek, and Grace Winpigler placed third in the event with a time of 2:10.02.
Seconds & Thirds
- Coleman placed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.38. She swam the 100-yard butterfly in 1:05.24, placing third in the event.
- Coppage completed the 200-yard freestyle in 2:12.61, good enough to place third in the event. She also earned a third-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 5:59.25.
- Seek placed third in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 33.43.

- Bryn Mawr defeated Penn State Altoona by a score of 182-61.
