Women's lacrosse stopped by Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Hood College women's lacrosse team fell to Elizabethtown with a final score of 14-5.

  • Laura Skorobatsch led the offense with three goals and two draw controls.

How it Happened
  • Elizabethtown started off strong with a 5-0 run in the first seven and a half minutes of play. Skorobatsch scored off of an assist by O'Neill with 10:06 left. O'Neill then scored a goal of her own less than five minutes later. Etown scored on a free position shot with one second left to lead the Blazers 7-2 at halftime.
  • Skorobatsch opened up the second half with a goal in the first three and a half minutes, decreasing the deficit to a mere four points. Etown then went on a 6-0 run, leading the Blazers 13-3 with 10:07 left to play. Skorobatsch scored off of a pass from Samy Brandt with 8:36 left in the game. Brandt scored three minutes later, bringing the score to 13-5 in favor of Etown. A goal by Kate Zielger with 3:13 to play finalized the win for the Blue Jays.
For the Opponent
  • Lexie Sharp led all players with seven goals on the afternoon. She also added one assist and five draw controls.
  • Ziegler and Emily Garvin recorded three goals each. Ziegler added two assists, two caused turnovers, and two draw controls. Garvin recorded four caused turnovers and three draw controls.
  • Caity Howell stopped three shots in goal.
Analysis
  • Draw controls were almost equal as Etown won 11 and Hood won nine.
  • Etown outshot Hood 32-14.
