Record Chi Alpha Sigma class announced

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College athletic department has announced 40 new inductees and a total of 50 student-athletes recognized as part of the Epsilon Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma. 

Both totals are the most since Hood's chapter was established in 2008-09. The previous record for new inductees was 23 in 2011-12 and the total number of inductees this year bested the 32 from 2017-18's class.

Chi Alpha Sigma is the pre-eminent honor society for college athletes, recognizing junior and senior student-athletes who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or above, on a 4.0 scale, and have lettered in his/her sport. Potential inductees, who must be endorsed by their coaches, are to display good sportsmanship, citizenship, and moral character.

Chi Alpha Sigma was founded in 1996 on the campus of DePauw University. Allegheny College was granted Chi Alpha Sigma membership in October 2017.
