FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College overcame a recent string of slow starts, leading Messiah University late in the first set, but the Falcons defeated the Blazers' women's volleyball team 3-0 in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth match.

- Messiah regrouped and scored the next four points and Hood later faced an 18-14 deficit.
- The Blazers were not done, rattling off the next five points, including kills by Carrington Ray and Ambruster and an ace by Katie Amaguana for a 19-18 edge.
- The Falcons matched the five-point run, however, and quickly went ahead 23-19.
