Field Hockey upended by No. 8 Messiah


FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College field hockey team fell 8-0 to No. 8 Messiah in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth action.

Inside the Box Score How it Happened 
  • Messiah's Jennie Young scored within two minutes for the Falcons in the first period.
  • The Blazer's had an opportunity to score, when Sage Barnhart inserted a late period penalty corner to Phebe Frost, the shot would end up being stopped by Messiah's goalie Catie Brubaker. 
  • The Falcons added to their lead when Ashley Levesque scored at 18:36 assisted by Kate Dickow. Later in the second period Levesque added an assist on a Teagan Murrie goal that added to Messiah's lead. 
  • Dickow added an unassisted goal at 23:19, the Falcons ended their four goal second period with a goal by Megan North assisted by Lindsay McFeaters for a 5-0 lead at halftime.
  • Makayla Malcolm would score twice in the third period, one was assisted by Ashlyn Smith to extend the lead to seven.
  • Messiah's last goal of the game came from Abby Lamison assisted by Megan North to end the scoring at 47:33.
