Multi-goal games by Johnson and D'Agostino helps field hockey get back on track against Wells College


FREDERICK, Md. - Multi-goal games by Tanae Johnson and Sophie D'Agostino helped the Hood College field hockey team get back on track with a six-goal win over Wells College in a non-conference matchup. 

Inside the Box Score How it Happened 
  • Johnson scored once in the first period and again in the second for a 2-0 lead at the 22:40 mark. In the closing seconds of the second period, Melancon scored at 29:45 assisted by Frost for her first goal of the season. 
  • Barnhart scored on a redirected ball in the box at 37:47 to extend the lead for Hood during an otherwise quiet third period.
  • In the last period of the game D'Agostino scored two goals in two minutes beginning at 50:23, closing out a 6-0 win by the Blazers.  
Analysis
  • Hood had 35 shots in the contest, which is a season high for the Blazers 
  • The Blazers held a 12-to-0 advantage in penalty corners. 
For The Opponent
  • Samya Anderson-Victor recorded 19 saves in the contest. 
Notes
  • It is the first five-win season for the Blazers, since winning seven times in 2014. 
  • Hood recorded its most goals scored in a game since scoring six goals in 2017 against Notre Dame. 
  • Johnson's and D'Agostino's pair of goals were the first time two Blazers recorded a multi-goal games twice since 2013 against Cedar Crest.
