FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College field hockey team came from behind to defeat Sweet Briar in a overtime shootout on Senior Day.

• Tanae Johnson and Maddy Dillon recorded a goal each. 
• Julia Cencetti and Sophie D'Agostino each scored an assist. 
• Richana Brown had six saves in goal for the Blazers. 

How it Happened 

• After a scoreless first period, Sweet Briar's Ingrid Kalwitz scored at 15:29 assisted by Lara Jost to put the Vixens out in front. 
• The Blazers tallied two unanswered goals first from Johnson at 22:23 assisted by Cencetti, then a Dillon score at 26:30 off a pass by D'Agostino to give Hood the lead heading into the half. 
• Sweet Briar's Brynna Hughes added a goal at 43:51 that was assisted by Brigitte Gorman to tie the game back up heading into the final period. 
• The fourth period brought no shots on goal by either team sending the match to overtime. 
• After two strong defensive overtime periods by the Blazers and Vixens, the game was sent to the season's first shootout. 
• In the first shots by both teams Sweet Briar made its and Hood was turned away giving the Vixens the advantage. 
• The Blazers made their next three shots and Brown stepped by saving the next three chances by the Vixens to end the game with a Hood victory.          

Analysis

• The Vixens had 15 shots in the contest, compared to just five by the Blazers.
• Hood held a 8-to-2 save advantage over Sweet Briar.
