At the Plate
How it Happened
- Patterson was locked in a pitcher's duel with Albright's Shaun O'Reilly through the first six innings.
- The Lions put two runners on in the top of the sixth when Chris Nalley made a diving catch in left field for the third out to strand the go-ahead run on third.
- Nalley then led off the sixth with a single and Alex Jenkins executed a sacrifice to set up DeProspero's RBI double to left center field. Wheeler chased O'Reilly from the game with a base hit to left that knocked in DeProspero for a 2-0 lead.
- After a 1-2-3 seventh, Patterson ran into trouble in the eighth. Nick Sklenarik reached on an error to start the inning. After a fielder's choice and a strikeout, singles by Will Algard and Austin Gromlich loaded the bases with two outs. Hood turned to Jean-Baptiste who escaped the jam to preserve the lead.
For the Opponent
- Algard had two hits.
- O'Reilly took the loss. He allowed two runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. Jeremy Brubaker pitched the final 2.2 frames for the Lions.
