Men's soccer rallies to defeat St. Vincent, 3-1

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's soccer came back to defeat St. Vincent, 3-1, after being down 1-0 in the first half with Julian Olivarez leading the way with two assists on three of the Blazer goals. 

Inside the Box Score How It Happened
  • St. Vincent got the scoring started quickly with tally from Giuseppe Loiacono off an assist by Cory Northrup at the 9:29 minute mark. 
  • Hood entered the scoring column three minutes into the second half when Olivarez won a battle for the loose ball and found Weems who buried his shot passed the goalie to tie the game at one apiece. 
  • In the game's 65th minute, Urbina netted his shot into the top left corner of the goal off a free kick to take the 2-1 lead over the Bearcats.
  • Poisal secured the victory for the Blazers' when he headed the Olivarez cross pass into the back of the net. 
Analysis 
  • Hood had the advantage over St. Vincent 22-10 in shots and 6-3 in corner kicks. 
For the Opponent
  • Loiacono netted the lone goal for the Bearcats.
  • Northrup ended the day with one point on one assist. 
  • Zach Gibbons recorded five saves in net for St. Vincent.
