YORK, Pa. - The Hood College women's basketball team fell 77-38 at York College (Pa.) in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth action.

- Morgan Anderson finished with 12 points and six rebounds. The senior added two blocks and a steal.

How it Happened
- A 3-pointer by Hood's Etchison got the Blazers on the scoreboard in the first 30 seconds of play. York answered back with an 18-3 run to put the score 18-6 with 2:19 remaining. An and-one by Anderson and a bucket by Marlise Newson helped the Blazers to come within eight points (19-11) with 25 seconds left in the period before a late basket by the Spartans' Alyssa Hocker made it a 10-point lead going into the second quarter.
- After a 3-pointer by Bre Smith, both teams traded baskets in the first six minutes of the second period. Anderson scored the final five points of a 7-2 run that pulled Hood within 29-21 with 4:23 left in the half. But the Blazers' efforts were thwarted by an 11-4 run started by York's Kayla Ferris to end the first half 40-25. Ferris scored nine of her 15 points in the second quarter.
- Ferris had four of York's seven third-quarter steals as the Spartans built a 26-point lead to end the quarter,59-33.
- Hood struggled with its shooting all evening but went ice cold in the fourth quarter making only a pair of field goals as York continued to pull away.

- Alana Bortner led the Spartans with 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting. She grabbed five rebounds and added a pair of steals.
- Ferris recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting and 10 rebounds. The graduate student dished out eight assists, to go along with six steals.
- Camila Sosa recorded 14 points, six rebounds, and six assists.
- Savannah Wilson finished with six assists and a game-high nine steals.

- Hood slipped to 5-8 on the season and 2-4 in the MAC Commonwealth.
- York improved to 12-2 overall and 6-0 in the conference.
