FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's volleyball team defeated Trinity Washington and Hollins by identical 3-0 finals to wrap up the 2022 season with senior day.

- Hood hit a school record .710 in the win over Trinity Washington with 23 kills and just one error in 31 attacks.
- The Blazers' 41 service aces were the second-most in school history, just short of the record of 46 (vs. Chatham, 2002). Caitlin Ambruster (Fleetwood, Pa./Brandywine Heights) and Jackie Malitzki (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) had 11 aces in the match and Casey Chamberlin (Pelham, N.H./Pelham) served up nine. The totals for Ambruster and Maltizki were the most for a Blazer since 2018, when Payton Belella had 11 against the Tigers.
- Emma Elizondo (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) had nine kills against Trinity Washington in 13 attempts (.692).
- Ambruster had a match-high 11 kills against Hollins.
- Shane Simms (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) had eight kills in 10 attempts (.800) in the Hollins match.
- Elizondo added 12 digs and Staci Kutzler (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) added 10 against HU.
Hood 3, Trinity Washington 0
- After a service error by the Blazers gave Trinity a point to make it 5-1, Carrington Ray (Washington, D.C./St. Andrew's Episcopal) recorded a kill to begin a 20-0 run to end the set.
- Hood led 7-3 in the second set and used another set-sealing run, this time 18-1, to claim a 2-0 lead in the match.
- The Blazers scored the first 13 points of the third set before Trinity Washington scored back-to-back points. Hood then used a 12-1 surge to claim the match.
- Alea Hegg (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) hit a perfect 4-for-4 in the match.
- Camden Swain (Sparrows Point, Md./Sparrows Point) added two blocks.
Hood 3, Hollins 0
- The Blazers led 12-11 in the first set but took a 1-0 lead in the match behind a 13-4 run, including two kills apiece by Ambruster and Elizondo.
- Hollins jumped out to a 10-6 lead in the second set. Hood responded by scoring nine straight points, including three kills from Simms, to take a 15-10 lead. Hood led 18-14 before ending the set with a 7-2 spurt.
- The Blazers trailed 15-12 after back-to-back attack errors in the third set. Ambruster got Hood back on track with a kill and an ace, starting a 13-3 run to seal the victory.
- Ann Ofoegbu (Falling Waters, W.Va./Spring Mills) had three aces.
For the Opponents
- Jewel Joyner had a service ace for Trinity Washington against Hood. Danet Harris added two digs.
- Kenna Esquibel had nine kills against the Blazers for Hollins. Zoe Brooks added 18 assists.
