FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College field hockey team was defeated 7-0 by Alvernia University in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth matchup with the Golden Wolves on Friday.

How It Happened
- Hood held Alvernia to just two goals in the first half. Hailey Miller scored on a Rori Caulfield assist off a penalty corner eight minutes into the game, then Kathryn Palmer scored off a Felicia Getz pass on another penalty corner in the game's 28th minute.
- Alvernia scored early and often in the third quarter as Madison Speece scored off a Makenzie Smeigh assist, Gianna Gregory capitalized on a penalty stroke chance, Abbie Buck scored back-to-back goals for the Golden Wolves one off an assist by Palmer then Caulfield to secure the 6-0 score going into the final quarter.
- Getz secured the 7-0 Alvernia win in the 59th minute scoring off a Buck assist.
- Hood had a last-chance opportunity to get one on the board with a penalty corner to end the game but the Alvernia defense denied the Blazers the chance to score.
