Rocket League goes undefeated in esports action


FREDERICK, Md. - Rocket League defeats Champlain College and Siena University for an undefeated week in esports.
 
Rocket League: The RL team finished off the week by sweeping Champlain College, and taking three out of four against Siena. 

Hood 3, Champlain 0 
  • In game one, Hood took a close 2-0 game, Luke Sisco (Frederick, MD/Frederick) and Nate Burnett (Westminster, Md./Westminster) each had a goal in the game. Burnett also notched an assist on the Sisco goal. Sam Driscoll (Woodsboro, Md./Walkersville) had four saves in goal for the Blazers.
  • In game two, Hood closed out another close game winning 1-0. Sisco scored the only goal of the game on either side. Driscoll recorded an assist on the goal, while recording two saves.
  • In game three, the Blazers closed out the match winning another one goal game. Burnett scored two out of the three goals in the game. Sisco scored the winning goal in the game. Driscoll notched his second assist in the entire match.
Hood 3, Siena 1
  • In game one, Hood took a close 3-0 game, Burnett scored two out of the three goals, while Sisco scored his lone goal of the game. Burnett notched four saves in the game to keep Siena off the board.
  • In game two, Hood closed out another close game winning 3-2. Driscoll netted two goals in the game. Burnett also put a goal on the board in the second game, he also recorded two assists in the game.
  • In game three, the Blazers dropped the game 2-1. Burnett scored the lone goal for the Blazers. Sisco recorded an assist on that very goal. This win by Siena would force a fourth game in the match. 
  • In game four, the Blazers closed out the match with a 3-1 win. Driscoll notched two goals in the game. Sisco scored the only other goal for the Blazers. Driscoll also helped notching an assist.  
Rocket League is back in action on Friday, November 4 when they take on Alvernia University.

Valorant: Hood 2, Montclair State 0

The Blazers won 13-6, 13-8.
  • In game one, the valorant team won on Ascent. Bryce Daw (Frederick, MD/Middletown) recorded a match high in kills with 19, and had three assists. Owen Paolicelli (North East, MD/North East) scored 17 kills with three first bloods in the match. Caulten Cleveland (Bear, DE/First State Military Academy) recorded 10 kills with two assists in the match.
  • In game two, the valorant team won on Haven. Humza Ahmad (Hagerstown, MD/Penn Foster) finished with a team high in kills with 21 kills, he also recorded six first bloods. Paolicelli and Daw each had 19 kills and four assists. Cleveland recorded 15 kills and five assists in the match.  
Valorant is back in action on Tuesday, November 1 to take on Messiah University. 

League of Legends: Hood 2, University of Ottawa 1 
  • In game one on Summoner's Rift, the Blazers would accumulate 73,571 gold compared to UofO's 69,594. The team tallied 27 kills, Til Gieseking (Darmstadt, Germany/Justus-Liebig Schule) had a team high with 12 kills. Yukuan Feng (Harbin, China/Thomas S. Wootton (MD)) 343 minions, and collected 17,455 gold. The Blazers would win game one. 
  • In game two on Summoner's Rift, the Blazers would accumulate 83,610 gold compared to UofO's 69,581. The team tallied 35 kills, Ryan Leonardi (Bowie, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) had 14 kills in the match, while killing 303 minions. Feng killed 357 minions and collected 20,491 gold. The Blazers clinched the match winning game two.
League of Legends is back in action on Monday, October 31 to take on Messiah University.
