Taylor-Sparks leads women’s track and field at the MAC Championships


READING, Pa. - Iiyana Taylor-Sparks (Indian Head, Md./Lackey) jumped a career-best in the long jump to lead the Hood College women's track and field team on day one of the MAC Championships, hosted by Alvernia University. 

Highlights 
  • Iiyana Taylor-Sparks (Indian Head, Md./Lackey) jumped 4.81 meters (15-9 1/2), placing 15th overall. The mark is the third-longest jump in school history.
  • Tay Zechman (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) placed 12th in the weight throw with a mark of 12.21 meters (40-0 3/4).
Notes 
  • The Blazers are currently tied for 13th place after day one.
  • Misericordia is atop the team standings with 48 points.
