FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College's Madison Sheffield (Frederick, Md./Urbana) scored in the 80th minute to give the women's soccer team a 1-1 draw against the Eastern University Eagles in the Middle Atlantic Conference opener.

Inside the box 
Gabi Dolan (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) played all 90 minutes in goal. 

How it Happened  
Eastern seized the early advantage when Brynn Rathsam delivered a precision strike, finding the back of the net from well outside the box. This goal gave Eastern a 1-0 lead at halftime. 

As the game neared its conclusion, Sheffield capitalized on a critical opportunity. Her initial attempt was blocked, but forced the keeper out of position, allowing her to equalize the score. 

Analysis   
Eastern had a minimal offensive presence, with only one shot attempted throughout the game. 

Hood College totaled 18 shots, with seven on target.

Eastern did not earn any corner kicks during the game while Hood, on the other hand, had a total of six corner kicks. 

For the opponent   
Faith Leake of Eastern University made three saves.
