YORK, Pa. – After putting up a season-low 28 points in the first half, the No. 21 Hood College men's basketball team could not rally back, suffering their first Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth loss to York 69-62.

Garrison Linton (New Market, Md./Oakdale) scored a career-high 22 points, coming down with six rebounds.
Soren Almquist (Oakton, Va./James Madison) finished the game with 10 points.
How it Happened
Neither team could find the basket early on, with York making the first bucket of the game nearly three minutes into the first half to take a 3-0 lead, but Hood answered with a 9-0 run over the next 2:24 to take their first lead.
The Spartans answered back with an 8-2 run to tie the game at 11 with just under 12 minutes to play.
The Blazers went on an 8-0 run to regain a decent lead, but York would again go on a tear of their own to tie the game at 24-24 with 5:48 left in the half.
Although Hood managed to get the lead back with two free throws, the Spartans ended the half with a 14-2 run, putting the Blazers in a 38-28 deficit at halftime.
Hood would not go down without a fight, coming back to tie the game in the second half at 44-44 after a 16-6 run.
York spent the next 5:37 regaining a double-digit lead, going on a 17-7 run to put the Blazers back in a 10-point hole at 61-51 with just under five minutes to play.
Despite tying the game earlier, the Blazers would not get another chance to take the lead, as the Spartans slowed play down enough to run the clock out and hand Hood its first MAC Commonwealth loss with a final score of 69-62.
For the Opponent
Jayden Rowe led York with 24 points shooting 7-17 from the field, including 6-14 from three-point range.
Tate Landis ended the afternoon with 15 points.
Analysis
York shot 36 percent overall as well as from three-point range, while Hood shot just 34 percent overall, and 24 percent from three-point range.
The Blazers outrebounded the Spartans 43-39.
Hood had 18 turnovers, while York finished with just 10.
Notes
The Blazers' win streak ends at eight games as they drop to 13-3 (5-1), while the Spartans improve to 10-7 (3-3).
