YORK, Pa. – The Hood College men's soccer team were unable to come away with the result they wanted in their final game of the season, falling to Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth opponent York 3-0 to end their 2024 campaign.
Inside the Box Score
Nick Humphries (Potomac, Md./Potomac) made nine saves in the match.
How it Happened
Despite Hood getting a corner kick less than 30 seconds into the match, the rest of the half would be all York, as Luke Nall would put one in the back of the net for the Spartans in only the 14th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
Humphries would turn into a brick wall the rest of the half after that first goal, saving the other five attempts made towards the net to keep the Blazers down just one heading into halftime.
Unfortunately for Hood, York's offense was hot out the gate once again, with Nall getting his second of the night less than two minutes into the second half.
After a few more Spartans' attempts missed the mark, the Blazers managed to sustain some offensive pressure once again, with the best attempt coming from a
Landon Norcross (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon) Header that was cleared off the line. While they had several chances, Hood could not find the back of the net to cut their deficit, and York iced the game with a third goal in the 79th minute.
For the Opponent
Nall and Shaun Apsley both netted goals.

The Spartans outshot the Blazers 26-11.
York had 15 corners as opposed to just two for Hood.
