FREDERICK, MD- The Hood College women's tennis team dropped just nine total games across its three doubles and six singles matches in a 9-0 victory against Eastern University.
Doubles
- The Blazers doubles teams did not drop a game. Anna Frye (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and Kate Haufe (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) defeated Sarah Mower and  Rhyan Metzger at first doubles, 8-2, and Lauren Sheffler (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) and Cori Mark (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) won the second doubles against Trinity Gruber and Anisah Smith with 8-1.
- Gigi Falzone (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central) and Samantha Huffer (Lovettsville, Va./Woodgrove) defeated Grace Schriever and Mercedes Lohmann 8-5 at third doubles.
Singles
- Frye recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at the first singles over Gruber.
- Haufe picked up her second win of the day with a 6-1, 6-4 victory against Mower at No. 2 singles.
- Mark won 6 - 4, 7- 6(5) over Metzger at third singles.
- Sheffler picked up a win in a fourth singles with a 6-0, 7-6 (5) victory against smith.
- Falzone won against Schriever 4-6, 6-2 and 10-5 in third set at No. 5.single
- At sixth singles, Natalie Mackie (Elkton, Md./Elkton) was a 6-3, 6-3 winner against Kiley McHugh.
Notes
Hood improved to 4-5 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.
