FREDERICK, Md. — In a nonconference matchup against Cedar Crest University, the Blazer women cruised to an 8-1 victory.
Doubles
At No. 1 doubles,
Anna Frye (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and
Kate Haufe (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) improved their season record to 2-1 with an 8-0 blanking of their opponents.
Lauren Sheffler (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) and
Cori Mark (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) won 8-2 at second doubles.
Singles
Haufe stepped into the No. 1 spot and won 6-0, 6-0, and Georgia Falzone also defeated her opponent by the same scoreline at No. 4.
At second singles, Mark just gave up two games, winning 6-1, 6-1. Sheffler fell in a heartbreaker in the third singles position, 13-11 in the super tiebreaker.
Match Notes
Cedar Crest was short handed to begin the match with five players and then also lost a player due to injury in warmups. Therefore, Hood won third doubles and fifth and sixth singles by default.
