FREDERICK, Md. - The men's cross country team placed third in their own Blazer Blitz. Saturday morning's race was an "All Hood, All Blue" event hosted at Utica Park.
On the Course
Alex Seskar (Great Mills, Md./Great Mills) led the Blazers with a record-breaking time of 13:11.4 on the 4,000-meter course, finishing 8th overall. He crushed his own personal record by nearly one minute. Warren Hersh (Havre de Grace, Md./The Tome School) ran 14:14.9 to finish 19th overall. Hersh's performance earned him a spot in the record books, finishing 7th in program history; a great performance for his final home meet.
Tyshawn Brownfield (Waldorf, Md./Westlake) rounded out the Top 30 for the Blazers running 15:06.3 to place 27th. Thomas Kasanicky (Eagle Mountain, Utah/Westlake) and JC Barberena finished back-to-back to take 37th and 38th places. Kasanicky ran 17:16.6 and Barberena ran 17:17.8.
Team Scoring
McDaniel won the team crown with 28 points.
California (Pa.) had the individual champion in Jonoathan Thrush, who ran a time of 12:09.6.
Hood was third with 88 points.
