Box Score FREDERICK, Md. – A pair of goals in the first 10 minutes of the match put the Blazers in the driver seat in the 3-1 win over Pitt. Greensburg on Saturday afternoon.
Inside the Box Score
Ben Keville (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) scored a goal in the second half and earned an assist in the first.
Anthony Polio (Germantown, MD/Northwest) had three shots and a goal in the first half.
Orlando Portillo (Silver Spring, Md./John F. Kennedy) utilized his sole opportunity on goal to score in the first half.
Cam Simpler (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) earned an assist on the afternoon.
How it Happened
A failed clear was intercepted by Portillo then possession went to
Cam Simpler (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) as he hit the turf. From a sitting position, kicked it over to an in-stride Portillo who broke away from his defender and the goalie to tap in the first score of the game.
Later as the Blazers pressed the opposing Bobcats, a change of possession caused Polio to run down the right side of the field and receive the dish from Keville to then push it past a diving goalie and the Blazers have a crooked number in only 10 minutes of play.
Anthony Lopez (Silver Spring, Md./James Hubert Blake) showed good footwork in the first half but finally it paid off as a charge towards midfield set up an over the shoulder pass to Keville who won the footrace between his defender and lofted shot with the outside of his foot buried the ball in the net to extend 3-0.
For the Opponent
Matt Armenio scored the Bobcats' goal late in the second half.
