WESTMINSTER, Md. – A hard-fought match between the Hood College women's volleyball team and McDaniel College did not fall the Blazers' way, as the Green Terror swept them 3-0 in non-conference action.

Anna Daley (Erie, Pa./Harborcreek) finished the match with four total blocks.

How it Happened
The first set was an absolute battle, as neither team could pull away too much from the other. Although Hood had a six-point streak to take a 12-9 lead, McDaniel would come back to tie it at 15. That trend continued the rest of the set, as neither team could pull more than a couple points away from the other, eventually leading to extra points. With the squads knotted at 25, the Green Terror managed to get back-to-back kills to clinch the set and take a 1-0 match lead.
There was more of the same in the second set, as both teams once again grappled for control through one run or another. After the Blazers took a 12-11 lead, McDaniel rattled off four quick points to retake the lead, and although Hood eventually got within one, it was not enough to stop the home team from taking the second set and begin thinking about a sweep.
Just like the first two, set three was even more exchanging of points until a kill from Cam Madden (Carlisle, Pa./Big Spring) and two from Isabelle Garrett (Fluvanna, Va./Fluvanna) gave the Blazers a 15-13 advantage. They would keep that two-point barrier for a bit, but the Green Terror would go on a 10-2 run to end Hood's hopes of a comeback and complete the 3-0 sweep.
For the Opponent
Kaylee Comstock led McDaniel with five service aces.
Abigayle Bowley tallied six total blocks.
