GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Hood College men's golf team teed off at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic finishing with four players carding scores in the low 80s on the par-72, 6,740-yard course at the Gettysburg-hosted event.
 
On the Scorecards

Leading the way for Hood was Griffin Cansler (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora), who posted a solid round of 81 (+9), highlighted by a steady front nine of 42 and a strong back nine of 39. He doubled down with a 76 (+4) with an even back nine propelled by a Hole 12 eagle.

Caleb Dolan (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) matched Cansler's total with an 81 (+9) of his own during the preliminary 18 holes, showing consistency across both nines with scores of 40 and 41 including two birdies on the front nine holes. He added two more on his day two 80 to finish at 161.

David Nuckolls (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) and Nathan Leppo (Finksburg, MD/Westminster) each turned in rounds of 82 (+10), with matching 41s on both the front and back. Nuckolls led the Blazers with four birdies on the round, three on the back nine. Leppo worked a 79 on day two highlighted by a 37 (+1) on the front nine of that round.

Cameron Swan (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) rounded out the lineup with an 85 (+13), battling through a tough back nine but showing flashes of strong play on the front. Swan improved by four strokes on day two finish on a high note.
 
On the Leaderboards

McDaniel finishes at the top of the leaderboard with a total score of 582, even with three Gettysburg Bullets filling the podium with scores under 70.

Nick Conti of Gettsburg shoots a 139 to lead the pack. Andrew Eskorn and Daniel Casanta of Gettysburg shot 67's on day one to hog the next two spots.

Hood finishes in the back of the pack, strokes within an 11^th place showing and last place showing with the resting place being 17^th.
