READING, Pa. – The Hood College men's golf team wrapped up play at the Alvernia Invitational on Wednesday. After a tough day one, the Blazers marked an upper-half finish in the final 18 holes to stay out of the basement of the standings.
On the Scorecards
Freshman 
Griffin Cansler (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) led the Blazers with a two-round total of 157 (+13), finishing in a tie for 22nd place in a competitive field of nearly 70 golfers.
Cansler posted rounds of 78 and 79 to pace Hood's efforts at the tournament. His consistent play helped anchor the Blazers' lineup and marked his second consecutive Top 25 finish this fall.
Mac Arida (Gambrills, Md./Crofton), who carded rounds of 82 and 76 for a +14 total (158), tying for 26th place. Arida led the charge shooting even on the front nine on day two to propel one of his best scores of the Fall.
Cameron Swan (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury), who improved on his opening round with a 77 in round two including three birdies, finishing at +15 (159), tied for 32nd.
David Nuckolls (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville), who shot 86 and 84 for a +26 total (170), tied for 58th.
Caleb Dolan (Dumfries, Va./Potomac), who rounded out the scoring with rounds of 87 and 85, finishing at +28 (172), placing 60th overall.
On the Leaderboard
Dickinson's men led by three strokes over Christopher Newport shooting 596.
Collin McMahon-Shea shot two strokes under par to take the top individuals spot.
Hood finishes 11th, just a stroke behind Salisbury and Juniata.

The squad will get back to swinging at the Spartan Shootout at the Royal Manchester Golf Course the following weekend on October 19-20.
