POTOMAC, Md. – The Hood College men's golf team went toe-to-toe with seven other teams at the rescheduled Bernie Shootout at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm and churned out a second-place finish on Tuesday afternoon.
On the Scorecard
Nathan Leppo (Finksburg, MD/Westminster) paced Hood in the individual standings, carding a 76 (+6) to finish tied for third overall after the 18-hole round.
Griffin Cansler (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and
Mac Arida (Gambrills, Md./Crofton) followed close behind, both shooting a 79 (+9) to tie for fifth individually.
David Nuckolls (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) added valuable scoring for Hood with an 83 (+13), finishing tied for 15th.
Rowan Foose (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) contributed an 89 (+19) in his opening round, rounding out the team scoring,
On the Leaderboard
A duo from Marymount's A team, Daniel Kwon and Drew Miller both score a 74 to share the top spot.
The Marymount five took the team podium with a 26 over par.
Hood finishes in second place, 11 strokes off the lead, but 10 strokes ahead of third in the eight team field.
