FLEETWOOD, Pa. – The Hood College men's golf team wrapped up play at the 2026 MAC Commonwealth Men's Golf Championship on Sunday after harsh weather halted day one, the team finishes fourth overall with both
Griffin Cansler (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and
Mac Arida (Gambrills, Md./Crofton) earning all-conference bids.
On the Scorecards
Griffin Cansler (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) delivered another strong championship performance to lead the Blazers, finishing tied for fourth overall. The first-year took a clean approach by staying on par for all but four holes in round one while adding two birdies in his game during round two a steady 74 on Sunday, Cansler finished +6 for the tournament, recording 26 pars in total.
Mac Arida (Gambrills, Md./Crofton) posted Hood's second-best finish, ending the championship seventh overall with a two-round total of 153 (+9) earning him second team honors. Arida after a consistent first round, improved by three strokes in round two carding a 75, with four birdies and five pars on both sides of the turn.
After a challenging opening round,
Nathan Leppo (Finksburg, MD/Westminster) bounced back in a big way in his second round, firing a 77, one of Hood's best rounds of the day. Leppo climbed the leaderboard into a tie for 22nd, finishing at +18.
David Nuckolls (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) closed with an 80, finishing 25th overall at +23 and
Rowan Foose (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) rounded out the Hood squad, placing 26th overall with a two-round score of 169 (+25).
On the Leaderboard
Zachary Wilcox of Stevenson took the top spot shooting an even 144.
York Pa. took home the MAC Commonwealth Championship by two strokes over Stevenson.
Hood placed fourth out of six teams, a 323 in round one and then their 306 round two was one of the best team scores in the tournament.
