HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Hood College men's golf team completed play at the Cardinal Spring Classic with a sixth-place finish after two rounds of competition on the par-72 course.

Nathan Leppo (Finksburg, MD/Westminster) delivered the most consistent performance for Hood as he snuck into the Top 25 in 21st place, carding identical rounds of 79 (+7) in both round one and round two. Leppo finished at 158 (+14), leading the team over 36 holes.Â

Griffin Cansler (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) got Hood off to a strong start with an opening-round 79 and followed with an 82 (+10) on day two, closing the tournament with a total score of 161 (+17) good enough to tie for 28th. His play on the front nine was the team's best including an even performance on day two with eight pars and a birdie in that part of the turn.

Mac Arida (Gambrills, Md./Crofton) matched Cansler with a 79 (+7) in the opening round and recorded an 83 (+11) in the final round, finishing at 162 (+18) overall. Arida birdied Hole 1 on back-to-back days and then on the second day birdied Hole 3.

David Nuckolls (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) also posted a 79 (+7) in round one before carding an 84 (+12) on Monday to wrap up the event at 163 (+19). He led the team in birdies on the final day with three to combat the highs and lows of the day.

Dylan Chinboot (Centreville, Va./Westfield) rounded out the Blazer lineup, opening with an 80 (+8) in the first round with an impressive eagle on Hole 3 and finishing the tournament at 170 (+18).

On the Leaderboard
Shenandoah took the top spot in the team race with a 602 for the tournament.
Connor Christie of the Hornets took home first place with a two day score of 146 (+2).
Hood opened the tournament with a team score of 316 before posting a 328 in Monday's final round, finishing the two-day event at 644 just two strokes ahead of host Catholic.

The squad will compete at the Spartan Spring Invitational for their last regular season outing on Monday, April 20 and Tuesday, April 21 at the Country Club of York hosted by the York Pa. Spartans.
