GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Hood College men's soccer team went on the road Wednesday night against the Falcons of Messiah University in the first round of MAC Commonwealth playoffs, falling in the match 3-0.

How it Happened
Early in the first half of play saw both teams unable to find a rhythm to earn the advantage over the other side.
Messiah tested Hood's goalie but unfazed by the moment, Labows stood tall and made back-to-back saves.
With a trip to the MAC Commonwealth Championship on the line, the defensive prowess of both teams was on full display headed into halftime tied.
The Blazers started the second half more aggressive with an
Austin Heffner (Frederick, Md./Urbana) shot but the Falcons goalkeeper managed to save the attempt from Heffner.
Messiah matched Hood's energy with a shot of their own and found the back of the goal to earn the 1-0 advantage.
Shortly after, Messiah played with urgency and added two more goals late into the match.
Late in the contest, Cam Simpler (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) tried to cut into the lead of the Falcons and help the Blazers gain some momentum with a shot, but Messiah was able to close out the game and move onto the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Championship game.

Kyle Spodnik had two goals in the contest.
