WINCHESTER, Va. – The women's track and field opened its indoor season with a tuneup meet at the SU Holiday Kickoff Open hosted by Shenandoah University, finishing 7th overall in a field of nine programs.
Top Times
Aylene Noy (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) headlined the day for the Blazers with a stellar performance in the 5000-meter run, finishing 2nd overall in 18:35.73.
Freshman Maya Carey in her collegiate debut, placed 4th in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:47.56, while Amber Marshall followed with a 6th-place finish at 19:55.71.
In the 400-meter dash, senior
Tianna White (Silver Spring, Md./James Hubert Blake) clocked 1:09.03 for 5th place, and teammate
Megan Pezenosky (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) followed closely in 7th at 1:13.27.
In the field events,
Kindal Davis (Suffolk, Va./Lakeland) represented Hood in the throws, recording 14th place in the weight throw (10.48m) and 14th in the shot put (6.73m).
