Hood College Athletics Hoodies Award Winners

FREDERICK, Md. – Hood College Athletics annual "Hoodies" award show took place in the beginning of May and as coaches, student-athletes and administrators celebrated the passing year. Select student-athletes were recognized for their accomplishments while the award winners voting on by coaches were announced.
 
Women's Athlete of the Year:

Rebecca Gottleib (Linthicum, Md./North County), Softball
 
One of the the best hitters in the MAC Commonwealth, has a .452 batting average, .583 on base average, and an OPS of 1.294 which is an incredibly high stat for softball along with 28 walks. In the circle, she earned the conference with nine wins and second in the league in strikeouts. She is a strong candidate for Player of the Year in the MAC Commonwealth"
 
Men's Athlete of the Year

Garrison Linton (New Market, Md./Oakdale), Men's Basketball
 
Frist Team All-Conference, Second Team All-Region. This past year, he led the conference in assists per game and assist-to-turnover ratio, and ranked 5th in steals, 11th in rebounding, and 12th in scoring.
 
Men's Rookie of the Year

Kole Kohut (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) - Men's Golf

From his first match when he set the low round record for a first year of a 73, which he again beat in the spring with an even par 72. Kole has established himself as a force in the conference ranking in the Top 5 first years and top 15 overall on Clippd. He earned his first medalist honors with the LBC spring event shooting a 36-hole score of 147, which ranks Top 5 all-time. His year scoring average ranks Top 10 all time and he has 5 other entries in the top 10 all-time scoring list.

Women's Rookie of the Year

Emma Massey (Felton, Del./Lake Forest), Field Hockey

In her rookie season, Emma broke every single freshman offensive record in the books. Her six goals, four assists, and 16 points gained her three #1 records for Hood FH. Two of her goals were game winning goals. She is one of the hardest workers that head coach Emily Barber has ever coached, is very scrappy, and never gives up on the play.
