at the Volpe Athletic Center. The Marlins won by set scores of 25–14, 25–10, and 26–24.

How it Happened
The Marlins started out on a 5-0 run thanks to up close play at the net by JaMarha Wills and good facilitation by Ajaye Davis.
Blake Catts (Rehoboth Beach, Del./Cape Henlopen) and the Hood squad responded with good play at the service line to work their way back into contention during the middle of the match. The visitors finished on a 8-4 run to take the first set.
In set two, the Blue & Grey battled early but two streaks on five or more unanswered points put them trailing from afar.
The final set looked grim at a 9-3 mark in favor of Virginia Wesleyan, but the ability to keep rallies going put a pulse on the set and the pressure on the veins of the opponent.
Ryan Elias (Washington, D.C./Washington Leadership Academy) responded to heavy attacks by VWU and forced the Marlins to make mistakes and lead by two at 14-12. On the brink of elimination at 24-22 a clutch service error and a clutch service ace by
Dane Lyons (Taneytown, Md/Francis Scott Key) caused the idea of spoiler to fill the room. The Marlins prevailed by emptying the tank and forcing errors by the home squad.
