WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Hood College women's golf team wrapped up a 36-hole competition at the McDaniel Spring Invitational at the Bridges Golf Club with an eighth-place finish on Sunday afternoon.
On the Scoreboard
Keira Corcoran (Queenstown, Md./Queen Anne's County) led the Blazers, finishing 24th overall after carding rounds of 99 and 89 for a two-day total of 188 (+44). Corcoran showed improvement in the final round, trimming 10 strokes off her opening score to cap the tournament and posted birdies on Hole 3 and 5.
Gabi Miller (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) followed closely, placing tied for 29th with rounds of 95 and 99 to finish at +50 (194).
Mia Cheesebrough (Mendota Heights, Mn./Two Rivers/St. Paul Riveters) ended the tournament tied for 33rd after posting scores of 102 and 95 for a 197 total (+53).
Sophia Stultz (Elk Township, N.J./Our Lady of Mercy Academy) rounded out the Hood lineup, finishing 48th overall after shooting 112 and 109 for a 221 (+77) across two rounds.
Hayden Avery (Greenwood, Del./Woodbridge) also represented the Blazers, closing the invitational with a 244 (+100) total.
On the Leaderboard
Sarah Wang of Franklin & Marshall took the individual top spot with a +16 (160) on the tournament.
The Catholic Cardinals took the field by almost 25 strokes with a 685 total in the two-day event.
Hood finishes 9th out of 11 teams competing with an 800 total score but improved by 16 strokes on the second day of play.
