READING, Pa. – The Hood College women's golf team turned in a second-place performance at the Women's MAC Preview & Albright Lady Lions Spring Invitational with a team score of 373 (+85) against a competitive eight-team field.
On the Scorecards
Gabi Miller (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) led the Blazers with a round of 89 (+17), finishing ninth overall in the individual standings. Miller paced Hood throughout the day with five pars on the front nine and birdied Hole 14 during the back.
Keira Corcoran (Queenstown, Md./Queen Anne's County) turned in a solid round of 92 (+20), finishing tied for 11th overall. Corcoran was the only Blazer to birdie the 409-yard Hole 7.
Matching Corcoran stroke-for-stroke,
Mia Cheesebrough (Mendota Heights, Mn./Two Rivers/St. Paul Riveters) also carded a 92 (+20) to earn a tie for 11th place. Cheesebrough's round helped Hood place three golfers inside the top 15.
Sophia Stultz (Elk Township, N.J./Our Lady of Mercy Academy) finished the day placing 23rd overall. Stultz battled through the front nine and marked four pars and a birdie on Hole 4.
On the Leaderboard
York College of Pennsylvania topped Hood with a total of 331 (+43).
Grace Spielman of Alvernia shot a 71 (-1) to take the individual cup.
Hood finishes 14 strokes ahead of third place Lebanon Valley.

The squad will travel to Grantville, Pa for the Manada Golf Club to take on King's College (Pa.)
for a dual match on Sunday, April 19.
