HAGERSTOWN, MD. – The women's golf team took the Golden Oaks Shootout top spot shooting six strokes off the program record at the annual 18-hole tournament at the Golden Oaks Golf Course in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania on Monday, September 28.
On the Scorecards
Gabi Miller (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) places third in the field of 20, shooting an 83 highlighted by six pars on the front nine.
Keira Corcoran (Queenstown, Md./Queen Anne's County) followed with an 88 good enough for fifth, staying steady and preventing bogeys from becoming lost holes.
Eliza Somji (Calgary, Alberta, Can.) golfed as an independent and shot a career best 90 to tie for sixth place. She birdied the tough Hole 11 as the highlight of her round.
Mia Cheesebrough (Mendota Heights, Mn./Two Rivers/St. Paul Riveters) continued the Top 10 streak for the Blazers in eighth place with a 92.
Emily White (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge) sported the only other Blazer birdie with one on Hole 14 and a 94 good enough for ninth place.
Delaney Hench (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) and
Sophia Stultz (Elk Township, N.J./Our Lady of Mercy Academy) both finish tied for 10
th with a 96.
Olivia Kamieniarz (Big Sky, Mon./Lone Peak) rounds out the Blazers with a 12
th place finish.
On the Leaderboard
The Blazers shot a 357 as a team, 15 strokes ahead of second place Alvernia.
An independent golfer Izzy Yang from Swarthmore took the top individual spot.

The squad will wrap up the fall season with the Mid-Atlantic Shootout hosted by Stevenson University. The outing at Oakmont Green in Hampstead, Maryland will take place on Monday, October 12 and Tuesday, October 23.
