With the conclusion of the 2026 softball season, it was announced that
Lizzie McConnell (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island),
Rory Achey (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land),
Taylor Lowe (Laurel, Del./Delmarva Christian), and
Sam Larkin (Pasadena, Md/Chesapeake High School) were named to the MAC Commonwealth All-Conference team.
McConnell, in her sophomore season, found immense success in conference play, earning First Team honors by batting .344 overall and .362 in MACC play. The outfielder had an OPS of .819 and finished with the second-most hits on the team with 45 while also outracing catchers at every chance, going a perfect 13-13 on stolen base attempts for eighth most in the conference.
Achey, a first-year student, burst onto the scene both behind the dish and at the plate, coming in fifth in catching runners stealing while also batting .361 overall to earn a Second Team nod. Conference play was where she shined, leading the team in both batting average and OPS with .442 and 1.052, smacking in a total of 11 RBIs off 44 hits during the season.
Larkin, a junior, is no stranger to this list, having been named an Honorable Mention in 2025. The everyday third-basemen for the Blazers stepped up big this season though, making the Second Team after a .364 batting average and .889 OPS on the year, with both of those numbers increasing in conference play. Despite having to play through injury during some of the season, Larkin still managed to accumulate 31 RBIs for third-most on the squad, and her stellar play at third was able to save more than a run or two.
Lowe, a first-year, played as well as the coaches wanted her to and then even better, with the utility player earning a Second Team nod for her dominance both at the plate and in the circle. Her pitching was hard to deal with for anyone who had to face her in an at-bat, as she broke the program's single-season strikeout record with two weeks to play, ultimately ending with 145 on the year. As tough as she was in the field, she was just as good at the plate, leading the team with a .386 batting average and 1.196 OPS, blasting 14 doubles, 10 home runs, and racking up 35 RBIs.
Although the team was unable to make the playoffs this season, the future is practically blinding with the plethora of young stars to complement the highly-skilled veterans next season.
