ONEONTA, NY. – The men's soccer team after falling the day prior due to second half adjustments showing up too late, converted their efforts into two second half goals this matchup to win 3-1 against the Hartwick on Sunday afternoon.

How it Happened
Hartwick controlled much of the early play, generating several chances and earning five first-half corner kicks, but Hood goalkeeper Labows and the Blazer defense kept the hosts off the scoreboard through the opening 21 minutes.
Hood struck first in the 22' when Kalala finished a scoring opportunity off a pass from
Ryan Pinkel (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown). Kalala's goal gave the Blazers a 1-0 advantage despite Hartwick holding the edge in shots during the early stages of the match.
Hartwick eventually found an equalizer with just 10 seconds remaining in the opening half. Devin Chandler scored in the 45th minute, sending the teams into the break tied 1-1.
After halftime, Hood quickly seized momentum. The Blazers earned a penalty kick in the 59th minute after a foul in the box, and Wright confidently converted the chance to restore the Hood lead at 2-1.
Just over five minutes later, Alvarez found the back of the net in the 64', extending the Blazer advantage to 3-1 and capping a decisive stretch that saw Hood score twice in less than six minutes.
Moments after Alvarez's goal, Hartwick was reduced to 10 men when after a red card. Hood effectively managed the final stages of the contest, limiting the Hawks to just two second-half shots while continuing to generate opportunities of its own.

After allowing five corners in the first half, the boys from Frederick held Harwick from any corners in the second.
