Mike Landis

Mike Landis is in his second season on the Hood College coaching staff and will work primarily with infielders and hitters.

In 2016, he helped coach a Hood offense that finished third in the MAC Commonwealth in batting average at .304, on-base percentage at .383 and fielding percentage at .951. Three hitters were named to the all-conference team.

During Hood's first season, Landis was instrumental in helping an offense that batted over .300 and produced the leading hitter in the Middle Atlantic Conference, Josh Gall, who batted .435.

Landis was the head coach of the Seneca Valley High School baseball team from 2013-14. His 2014 club was a regional finalist featuring two All-Met selections, four all-state players, and six of the seven seniors advanced to play collegiate baseball. The squad hit .338 for the year and posted a 2.04 earned run average. In the classroom, the baseball team had a grade point average over 3.0. Prior to taking over as head coach, Landis assisted at Seneca Valley from 2007-11.

Additionaly, he has served as a senior hitting consultant and senior scouting coordinator for the Baseball Factory in Columbia, Maryland since 2011. 

Landis is the co-founder of Advanced Baseball Concepts and serves as a hitting instructor and coaches infielders and outfielders. He coached the 2011 Gaithersburg Post 295 Legion team to the Potomac Valley Championships and the squad was teh NABF Runner-up. In 2008-09, Landis was the hitting coach with the Gaithersburg Giants. The 2009 team finished second in the Clark Griffith/Eddie Brooks Baseball League. 

He played collegiately for the Gryphons, helping them to three Region XX Championships. He was a member of the 2004 team that was the NJCAA World Series runner-up.
