Koby McMahon

Koby McMahon is entering the 2022 season in his third year as an Assistant Coach for the Hood College Men’s Lacrosse program. McMahon is currently the Defensive Coordinator, working closely with that unit and the goalies. In his three seasons with the Blazers, McMahon has been involved in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, scouting, practice planning, and player development.
 
In 2021, the Blazers finished with a 4-5 record. In another shortened season, this team accomplished a lot of firsts, attaining the highest conference winning percentage and highest conference playoff seeding in program history in the MAC Commonwealth. The man-down unit stopped opponents at a rate of 75%. In 9 games, the goalie unit made 141 total saves and compiled a 57.8% save percentage.
 
Prior to his arrival at Hood College, McMahon was a four-year goalie for the Ferrum College Men’s Lacrosse program from 2016-2019. During his time there, he started 48 games for the Panthers. He is the all-time leader in career wins, saves, and ground balls for the program. In 2018, the Panthers finished seventh in the country in clearing percentage (89%) and fourth in the country in man-down percentage (85%) in all of DIII. McMahon also made the SEILC All-Conference and All-Tournament Teams in 2016 while helping lead his team to the SEILC Championship that year.
 
McMahon is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration at Hood College. McMahon graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Ferrum College in 2019. He also graduated from St. Mary’s Annapolis in 2015. A native of Annapolis, MD, McMahon currently resides in Frederick, MD.
