Maxx Davis

Coach Maxxwell “Maxx” Davis joined the Hood Lacrosse coaching staff as an assistant in 2023.

Prior to Hood, Davis held several coaching positions at both the club and high school levels, most recently with Zingos Lacrosse and Team Eighteen. From 2010-13, Davis served as the associate head coach at JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, California. He and his cousin, Kyle Harrison, led the Lions to two CIF semifinal appearances and one CIF finals appearance, both of which were the first in program history.

Davis also played professionally for team STX on the LXM Pro Tour from 2011-14. He was named Player of the Game following Team STX’s 19-13 victory over Team Maverick after jumping in the cage and making 15 saves after an early hand injury to starting goalie Matt Russell.

Before his coaching career, Davis played collegiately at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) where he was a three-year starter, two-time America East Champion, a 2010 All-America East Conference First Team player, as well as a 2010 STX/USILA Senior All-Star. He was also named UMBC’s Most Improved player in 2010 after switching positions to defensive midfield his senior year and was inducted onto UMBC Lacrosse’s All Time Team in 2015. He graduated in 2011 with a degree in media and communications studies.

Davis is also a member of the 2021 Class for the Friends School Athletic Hall of Fame, in recognition of extraordinary sportsmanship, athletic ability, and meritorious service to the Athletic program of the Friends School of Baltimore.
