Kelsey Ritner

Kelsey Ritner ’18, M.A. ’22 was named the assistant coach for the women’s volleyball program in August 2021. She has worked as the office manager for the athletic department since June 2021. 

Ritner was a four-year starter as a libero/defensive specialist and served as team captain for three years. A two-sport student-athlete, she also played softball as a second baseman/outfielder for two years. 

As a player, Ritner earned the Middle Atlantic Conference Sportsmanship Award as well as the Dean’s Award in 2018 at the athletic department’s senior award ceremony. She was on the MAC Commonwealth Academic Honor Roll for all four years. 

Over the course of her career, she recorded 11 kills, 62 assists, and 40 service aces. Her 567 career digs rank among program leaders.  

A 2018 graduate of Hood College, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in creative writing and a double minor in film studies and business management. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in humanities at Hood.
