Michael Riley of the men's basketball team was selected Hood College Athlete of the Week on November 18, 2019. Riley was named the MVP of the Battle of D.C. & Maryland tournament after leading Hood to the championship game where he scored 42 points. He beat a school record when he hit 11 3-pointers on 17 attempts. Riley also recorded six rebounds, two blocks and two steals that game.
