FREDERICKSBURG, Pa.--The Mary Washington men's soccer team remained undefeated in the Capital Athletic Conference Tuesday with a 7-1 victory over the visiting Hood College Blazers. Hood drops to 5-7-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the CAC while the Eagles move to 10-2-0 and a perfect 5-0-0 in the conference.

Mary Washington got on the board early, scoring three goals in the first 15 minutes of the contest. The Eagles kept the pressure on in the second half, netting three more tallies before Hood responded with its lone goal of the contest in the 77th minute. Junior Tom Noonan fed classmate Shane McCarrick for his second goal of the season. The Blazers were outshot 22-7 but freshman goalie Shawn Fernholz hung tough, turning away seven shots in the losing effort.

Hood looks to get back on the winning track Friday, Oct. 13, when it hosts Columbia Union College at 1 p.m. in a non-conference game at Thomas Athletic Field.
