SALISBURY, Md.--The Hood College women's soccer team (5-10, 2-5
CAC) suffered a 3-0 Capital Athletic Conference setback to the host
Salisbury University Sea Gulls (11-2-1, 7-1 CAC) Saturday.
Hood was outshot 25-2 on the day, with both scoring
opportunities coming from the foot of freshman Cara Jordan.
Freshman Rachelle Buhrman made 10 saves in the net to keep the
Blazers in it.
Kate Weaver got Salisbury on the board in the fifth minute
but the Sea Gulls were then stonewalled for the next
72 minutes of the contest by the Blazer defense. Ally Olewine
put the Sea Gulls up 2-0 with a goal in the 77nd minute and
Samantha Asch added an insurance goal at the 82:00-minute mark
as Salisbury won its third straight CAC game.
Hood's next contest is slated for Tuesday against CAC opponent
Marymount University at 4 p.m. at Thomas Athletic Field.
