Mary Washington Defeats Hood in CAC Quarterfinal

FREDERICKSBURG, Va.--The sixth-seeded Hood College women's soccer team (7-11) lost to the third-seeded University of Mary Washington Eagles (10-3-3) 3-0 Sunday in the quarterfinal round of the 2007 Capital Athletic Conference tournament.

UMW's Kate Parvin had a hand in all three goals in the victory for the Eagles, assisting on a pair of tallies and netting one of her own midway through the first half. Christine Reardon and Allison DiPippa also scored for the Eagles.

Freshman keeper Rachelle Buhrman made 11 saves for the Blazers, who were held without a shot on goal in the contest.

The Eagles advance to the semifinals and will meet second-seeded York College (Pa.) Wednesday in York, Pa.

Hood will graduate just two players from its roster this spring in Kristina Rendon and Courtney DeSisto.
