FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's soccer team (8-6-1, 3-4
CAC) fell to the visiting Salisbury University Sea Gulls (6-4-4,
4-0-2 CAC) by a score of 3-0 Saturday in a Capital Athletic
Conference game at Thomas Athletic Field.
Salisbury's Danielle Passucci set up Danielle Crowley in the
14th minute for the game's first score. Then seven minutes before
the end of the half, Samantha Asch's shot attempt deflected off a
Hood defender and into the net to give the visitors a 2-0 edge at
halftime.
Hood and Salisbury each attempted six shots in the first half
but Hood was unable to put one past Sea Gull keeper Gena Goodson.
In the second half, Salisbury's Sarah Jessilonis made it 3-0 in
the 57th minute when she scored off a rebound for the final margin.
Rachelle Buhrman made five saves in 59:31 of action while
Kirsten Cacciola turned away two shot attempts in 30:29 of work.
The Blazers return to action Monday hosting Lancaster Bible
College at 4 p.m. in a nonconference game.
