TOWSON, Md.--The Hood College volleyball team (1-14) lost to the
Goucher College Gophers (12-14) 3-0 (18-25, 25-27, 22-25) Thursday
evening in nonconference action.
Junior Ashley Burns keyed the Blazer offense with seven kills
and had a pair of blocks while Chelsea Weaver put down six kills
and had 11 digs. Lena Bushrod tallied a team-best 18 digs while
Kristina Straub set up 12 Hood kills and chipped in two of her own.
Megan Smith was a force up front for the Gophers, smacking 19
kills with only four errors for a .429 hitting percentage.
Hood's next match is slated for Tuesday at Lancaster Bible
College at 7 p.m.
