FREDERICK, Md.--The No. 4 seed Hood College softball team will
host No. 5 seed Wesley College Tuesday in a Capital Athletic
Conference first round playoff game.
The Blazers (15-11, 5-7 CAC) and Wolverines (6-22, 4-8 CAC) are
both in their first seasons in the CAC and split the regular season
series back on March 11 in Frederick. Hood rallied for two runs in
the bottom of the seventh in the opener with Wesley to capture a
2-1 victory in its CAC debut. Wesley earned a split in the twinbill
with a 5-2 triumph in the nightcap.
Tuesday's winners will advance to single games Thursday. Top
seed Salisbury will take on the challenge of the Hood vs. Wesley
winner while No. 2 seed York College (Pa.) will entertain the
winner of the No. 3 University of Mary Washington/No.
6 Villa Julie College tilt.
All six teams, four with one loss and two undefeated teams, will
advance to the weekend competition at Salisbury to complete the
double-elimination tournament.

Game 3: Winner of Game 1 at #1 Salisbury, 4:15 p.m.
Game 4: Winner of Game 2 at #2 York, 4:15 p.m.
